Default AMD

Hey guys, I'm back.

I've ditched Project: Initial and I'm giving the case to my girlfriends parents (with a PC in it) and I'm going for a full new, watercooled, build.

I intend to incorporate a Slim 240, one Slim 120 and another 120mm radiator.

The case I am going to be using is a Xigmatek Midgard:
http://www.xigmatek.com/product/chassis-midgard.php#2

I'm still not decided whether or not to use the windowed version or not, probably will do though

Hardware to be used in build:

Motherboard: MSI P7N Diamond - 780i Chipset
CPU: Intel Quad Q6600 - Need to buy still
Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream 700w - Modular SLI PSU
HDD: 60Gb Vertex, 1TB Spinpoint F1
GPU: ATI 5850/5870 (undecided atm)
ODD: Slim loading DVD drive

Cooling system:

GT Stealth 240mm + 2x 20mm Yate Loon fans
GT Stealth 120mm +1x 20mm Yate Loon
Any 120mm Rad + Xigmatek orange LED fan (considering modding bottom of case to fit a 240 rad but may have size restrictions (already have a 240)
Swiftech Apogee GTZ 775 Block
XSPC Dual DDC BAY* Reservoir - Black with 2x DDC 18w ultra pumps
Black Hose
Orange UV Coils
Either a dual or Quad UV lighting kit

Will be purchasing a Psycho Pack from murdermods for the PSU.

Pictures will be up soon.

I need some black bolts to go from Grill > Case > Fan> Rad. can anybody suggest some?

yeah you have mate, I'm on Jaern atm, potentially on my sorcerer tonight!

considering contacting NCSoft about a sponsor and getting a Daeva etched into a panel of acryl

or maybe even Steelseries, gonna give a load of e-mails out.

May be putting the midgard build on hold.

List of mods for the midgard:
Nitromors whole case to remove the crap paint on it and PC it matte black
Cut holes to house 240 Rad on bottom
mount a fan controller without using a drive bay (considering cutting holes in roof - will do a full sketchup of case)

Little picture there showing you how the hosing will be connected. may do the hose properly in sketchup tomorrow, just depends on if i can be bothered to fight sketchup or not

Also note this: The Mobo, GPU, Waterblock are not my intended ones to be used, just a placeholder atm.

So are those blue slots in the lid where you'll be mounting Dvd drives?

Have you bought the rads yet? If not I think you could put a full thickness TC PA120.2 in the top there and you wouldn't need the 120.1 making a more efficient loop and giving you a bit more space to play with - might even be able to keep the hard drive rack.

Looking good so far

blue slots are for the Li-Li fan controllers, will be removing them from the 3.5 bay holders.

not gonna use a dvd drive, gonna go external.

this case has a large amount of space behind the mobo, hdd's will be mounted vertically there

will also be using a multi-option res instead of the micro res and moving the OS/Aion/L4D/2 SSD behind mobo tray aswell

im looking at somthing along the lines of the sameish spec for my new build... got a question tho!
i see you have 3 rads, does it really need that much cooling? just as a general question, i was just thinking i might have to rethink how much cooling i give mine

I might have missed something, but why are you spending alot of money on an SSD when you're buying the EoL socket 775 processor/mobo?

For Midgard, not the Aion-themed A03.

I already have the mobo, and the specs may change.

As said already, Midgard is on hold, I may go AMD for it, but I'm unsure as of yet.

We'll see!

less than a week till AMD Starts!

All of the parts for Project: AMD have arrived.

I have installed it all, hosed it all up and I'm about to fill it for the first time, bit nervous but hey it's all part of the fun?

will post results sooner or later guys.
