#188070 Newbie needs some help

Posted by Aaron on 11 June 2016 - 11:26 AM

It's been a while since i've done a build, but i'm sure mine was quite quiet while running, except when it had trapped air at the beginning. SHould just hear a faint hum of the pump/fans.

Bubbles in the res shouldnt be an issue. Call it turbulence. If you are really concerned, consider getting a flow indicator?

#187994 need help finding compatible tubing and fittings

Posted by Aaron on 09 March 2016 - 02:13 PM

Hi Dylan, Welcome to WCUK.

Firstly, are you aware that WCUK is a watercooling shop as well as a forum? And i tell you this with no benefit to me whatsoever, I just know that Rob and Packer and co are seriously friendly and helpful, a service you won't get elsewhere...

The two items you've bought, and most others use 1/4" fittings.....you will need 2 for the waterblock, and 2 for the pump/res. And then 2 for every radiator.

As you are wanting to use acrylic tubing, you will need fittings specific for that tubing.

I'm going to use the WCUK shop......whether you choose to buy from them or not is up to you.

For the tubing click HERE and for the fittings click HERE.

Both of these links will take you to the overview page. Within each you will have many options for each. You need to make sure you pick fittings that are the same size (usually given as an inner and outer diameter e.g. 13/10mm) as the hosing you pick, for example...

13/10mm Primochill Acrylic Hosing 4 pack

13/10mm Monsoon Acrylic Compression 6 pack

Hope that helps :)

You will probably want to buy a toolkit for the tubing. I've never used acrylic but I probably would get one should i use it in future.

#187951 Loop will not fill when fully connected

Posted by Aaron on 11 January 2016 - 11:58 PM

Hey bud. As you have probably figured, you will have air trapped in the system. Making sure that all fill points are sealed uup, gently move your entire case back and forth and the air should find it's way out eventually...

You will probably find the loop is quite noisy when you have trapped air too.... :)

What about this one? CLICK HERE

Alternatively you could run a standard D5 top like THIS with a standard tubular reservoir. Quite a common setup.

I don't actually have any watercooled systems at the moment, but i used to run a DDC 10 watt pump and the noise wasn't too bad at all.

I remember seeing the first guy to do it years ago. Fitted it ALL internally too. Was awesome. Apparently he got a job at Microsoft off it, but dunno how true that was...

Lian Li also made an aftermarket case for it to watercool easily

if you want to go higher or lower change the multiplier. Leave bclk as it will set yr ram up nicely.
