#186585 Name top 5 PC parts online retailers

Posted by Mathewlisett on 01 September 2013 - 07:22 PM

Now mines certainly not in order, and im just naming ones that i know of and this topic is more about asking you guys who you believe would be the better ones for content and price.

Now im asking this because ive always looked at scan as the best place to go for hardware and specifically price, but got a nasty shock (even though i didnt buy anything) when i spotted i could get my "wish list" at least £150 cheaper from another retailer

1.scan.co.uk

2.aria.co.uk

3.ebuyer

4.overclockers.co.uk

5.ebay

Ive also spotted that most of these guys except for scan have a dreadful "navigation" UI, and by this i mean if i wanted to see what part was popular,low/high price, specific to its socket etc. Ive found that places like overclockers /aria and ebuyer are awful.

#186530 haswell or not to haswell thats the question!

Posted by Mathewlisett on 12 August 2013 - 10:29 PM

http://www.xbitlabs....k_13.html#sect0

folks after reading this, i need to know whats going to be a wiser move. going to 1150 haswell or the previous 1155

im getting the idea that from this article the haswell is a disappointment and not worth the money over the 1155.

it needs to be for a build for performance for editing of all sorts and oc'g

#185847 Similar to the Samsung galaxy ace

Posted by Mathewlisett on 30 January 2013 - 09:28 PM

Ok folks this is a new phone for mum. She likes the size and erognomical stance of the above device. However im not impressed with the fact the screen, icons etc arent exactly clear. well not as clear as bigger phones

Ive checked and this phone is nearing its 2nd year. So i need help to find what phones are up to date with tech, nice clear screen, possibly a way to make the icons bigger, but the same size as the above device.

#185734 IPB issue with redirection linking

Posted by Mathewlisett on 27 January 2013 - 09:56 AM

There has been an issue for some time, when i select the WCUK link in ym email the first try gets redirected to 1 maybe 2 urlshortlinks which are obvious scams, the only way to get to the WCUK link is by closing that window and re clicking the same email link. But from doing a google search, I found its seemingly a common issues with some version of IPB

http://www.fiestasto...-url4shortinfo/
http://www.scamadvis.../url4short.info
http://www.autoitscr...-url4shortinfo/
http://www.austinree...hort-addresses/

Ok so from what ive read, and i think we need to move this to the bugs section. its to do with IPB and an every occuring bug issue. so any site with some version of IPB you will likely come across this issue where from what i gather, some unhealthy minds have taken advantage to redirect to their link for their gain.
