I've become addicted to folding  I was climbing the ranks fairly fast then I upgraded my GPU last night. I was using a XFX nvidia 9600 GSO but upgraded to a 4870. Now since yesterday I havent crunched any WU's on my GPU. I uninstalled the f@h client then installed the recommended one tha came with the GPU but it appears it still thinks i'm using the 9600 here is the log below.

ATI is real pants at folding no matter what gpu you buy, and 8600 will out fold a 4870x2! Just the way they are made matey, if you are a keen folder you should have bought an nvid gpu.

Ive just bought 3x 8800gt's just to fold with !

You will have to delete the old WU and Queue from the folder as some are compiled for specific GPUs.

As Tom said, you'll probably see a drop in your ppd with the HD 4870 tho gaming will be much improved.

I've managed to get it sorted now. but have to use the console version ( I think thats what it is - the DOS one). Do I have to have this window open for it to work or will it continue to crunch if I close the window with the top left X. Also I have a list of ppd outputs from different GPU's from custom pc mag i'll scan and upload that soon if its helpful to anyone.

If you close the console window it will close the client and stop folding.
