You cant get the massive ones on ATI mate, you need the cuda drivers for it (nvid only)
Also ATI cards dont fold anywhere near as good as Nvids, Ive got a couple 4870's Ive been playing with and 3500ppd is about right.
If you get an Nvid card youll see they get different work unit numbers.

What core number are you running?

Glad you got it Folding nicely,

it's good to have another healthy contribution to the team. You're moving quickly up the leader board. :)

doesnt look like 5900 on each core then, probs accross the 2 maybe.

Did say about 3k per gpu for a 4870.

Still a great contribution dude ;)

tom,

you're right I was looking at the total.

On the other note:

I have 8800GTX where something went wrong with Printed circuit board after my working bench collapsed, it's booting up showing everything and works even in games but picture is corrupted. I'll try it in my second PC if I can get F@H running on it it could be additional contribution, is 8800GTX any good? I know I can overclock it's core stable to 780, does overclocking have positive impact on folding?

As Tom says, it's unlikely to complete the folding calculations if it's unable to render the screen properly.

Give it a bash tho cos the card may be damaged on the video signal side which shouldn't affect Folding.

If you find that the WU's fail all the time then the card is bu**ered.

Overclocking definitely helps with Folding, especially if you can overclock the shaders.

I straight away thought ram with a corrupted picture. Those things pop off at the first sign of stress, ask lasher :P

Ive personaly found the ammount of lanes that a card has available makes a big impact too matey.

just got a call from a courier today so he'll redeliver my stuff I ordered tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: - damn! TIM pads are on pre-order, no way to run 8800GTX without contact of RAM with heat-sink

guys I have a problem,

I'm not sure why, but my GPU utilization dropped to 65% and my PPD to 3500

Any idea what could have caused this? I'd like to utilize it 100% = both cores fully as before

settings are the same, drivers are the same

:-o:sad::cry:

Might have been a driver glitch, or something to do with using it loads while it folding.

Had a look about and not seen anything else similar.

holy S... 8800GTX is giving me 4480 PPD it's comparable to what I'm folding on 4870X2 on both cores together.

BTW saying that when I mounted back original default heatsink onto my 8800GTX it fixed the problem with PCB and all the "touch sensitivity" is gone and WU's are OK so am happy *******. I'll keep using 8800GTX for folding the only problem is that it run atm in my HTPC rig on fanless PSU Fortron ZEN 300W and that poor PSU started to make very disturbing high pitch sound I'm affraid of it's life :o

PSU being stressed can squeel, also can be caps about to pop, but GPU's can squeel and whine aswell.

Folding relys on shaders matey, thats why the Nvids rule for folding, its also why the ati gpu client utilises the cpu aswell.

probs a 9800tbh mate, you may well be lucky though. Pick of the draw tbh.
