Would be good if a few more people with 8 series or higher gpu's had a crack at this. :)

Got my son's pc (which is still at work atm) folding pretty much 24/7 with the Nvidia GPU client on a seriously overclocked 8800GTS 640mb

My home pc is folding with the Nvidia GPU client also, except when I'm gaming which isn't that often just lately, so that is mostly 24/7 on a seriously overclocked 8800GTX

Also, running the basic windows cpu gui client on my work pc.

If FAH develope the Nvidia GPU client to work on older series cards, I'll have the 7800GT on my work pc running on it too.

One of my fellow clan members 'fix0rd' the Nvidia GPU client so he could run 4 instances on his quad sli pc.

He was getting around 25000ppd, but as his GX2's are on the stock coolers his pc nearly melted.

Just bought this and installed it in the server. It comes pre overclocked and has a Zalman HSF so I loaded up Riva Tuner and bumped the shader clock to 1730MHz.

Within minutes it was Folding away like a goodun, and is showing 4937ppd in FAHmon, so with a bit of water cooling I should be able to push the overclock a lot further and crack the 5,500 ppd with it :)

That said, with the Zalman HSF the GPU temp is 62°C and I can't hear the fan which is pretty damned good. Problem is I already got an EK block for it so feel obliged to water cool it now :?

Total ppd with the 8800GT, 8800GTS 640 and 2 Q6600s is 13,368, tho' only the server is on 24/7 so hopefully I'll average 8-9,000ppd across a week. :D

LOL,

I've just fitted the EK block to the card and pushed the oc on a bit. Now running at 700MHz core, 1850MHz shaders and 1000MHz mem. This has taken the ppd to 5250 fot the GT.

The block has reduced the GPU temp from 62°C to 42°C :D

I'll leave it for a few days before I push it more.

Hmmz.....

2.7 years to overtake IanF at current production rates....

Have to do something about that.

Can see a dedi folding rig on the way as soon as funds allow.

:)

John, I have always used Riva Tuner for overclocking. The last couple of versions let you clock the shaders seperately which is very useful for Folding cos it's them doing all the work. I'm going to experiment and see how low I can drop the GPU and memory clocks without affecting the ppd in an effort to reduce power usage.

OneEye, if you're putting together a Folding rig I'd recomend using 2 8800GT cards as they seem to offer the most points per pound and per watt. That should get you 10-11,000ppd. To keep costs and watts down an Athlon X2 should keep these 2 cards fed ok.

You should catch me sooner now cos I'm stopping Folding on the Q6600 in my main rig, just to save a bit of lecky.

While waiting for funds for another rig, I'm gonna turn my shaders up a couple of notches to see if I can start catching you again Ian.

New gpu beta client been released.

Means my ppd is gonna drop off a lot over the weekend as I'll not be able to update the client on my son's pc which is still at work for now.

If it's running 24/7 it will keep using the old one. It's only when it restarts that it needs updating.

Ah, cool.

Tis why I had to update at home then.

Stopped the client for a bit of gaming last night.
