Whats the online play like? I mean if you two played against each other, what sort if style game play is it?
Ive been a trek fan for a very long time but never played any if the games..

It's pretty awesome. The multiplayer aspect is great, the instance play is really well designed and the questing... AWESOME! the stories are really well written and a lot of it has voice acting now.
If you're a trekkie, you'll love it. There's so much nostalgia it'll give you a nerdgasm.

The 3rd person on the ground doesn't really appeal to me, i much prefer 1st person. Maybe you can change that though in game.
Space bit look awesome though, i might give it a go 
Very much like Homeworld 2 that i got into a few years back.

You can go into first person shooter mode in ground combat.

Though that's not all... they questing story lines are fantastic. If you play through all the quests you'll see some fantastic trek nostalgia.
