Well, i got the mail for EVGA About the GTX 570 and i have to admit it looks a beasty card, prolly one of the best in comparason with the 4 series cards.... so what do you guys think of it? do you think its the card thats going to be the one....... or do you think its just anouther bad attempt from nvidea trying to get femi right? and DX11

They have got it right. 570 on par with 480 performance wise but with better cooling and less noise and cheaper than the 480 at launch = win in my books.

Depends on if you're watercooling.

if you're on air, like your current GPU's, I'd say 570.

if you're on water, pick up a cheap 480 second hand and chuck a block on it. same performance, but probably cost less if you're going to be watercooling ;)

460 SLI outperforms a single 480, so you'd be downgrading. If I were you I'd keep those babies until they're struggling to keep up.

3xGTX 280 has more horsepower than a single 580, but the 580 uses far less power, has DX11, more memory, and perhaps most importantly, leaves room to upgrading in the future!

Good move I'd say. :)

Glad to hear it, will make my loop a bit easier to manage and like you say I will get a little bit of space back in my case.

If by "be the one" you mean be the most popular mid range card, probably not -- it's too expensive and not really in that performance bracket (It's more mid-high in my eyes).

Fermi is pretty much fixed now. This is GF110, not GF100.

Granted but this only applies if you're running at stock, and you'll need to factor in the cost of a block as well... presumably the 570 clocks a lot better than the 480? You'd have to factor in power consumption, as well.

If you were wanting to go the second hand route I'd probably opt for a 5870 instead.

Maybe in the future but not till the 2nd one comes down in price a little.

Just good to see Nvidia back on top again, always been best for me.
I wish they would slow down with the speed they bring out a new card,
you just don't get long enough to abuse your card, then another new card is released.:D

I mean,i only had my 2x470's a few months and i feel they are so old:(

GTX570 should have been called GTX 475 imo.

New AMD cards come out in just over 2 hours.

OCUK had some benchmarks posted showing overclocked 6950 ~= stock 6970, overclocked 6970 ~= stock GTX580.

This is on old drivers and without voltage tweak.

Get in touch with EVGA support Danny. Tell em what the cards doing and its idle temps etc and if needed they'll sort out an rma. EVGA customer service really is second to none.
