Hey up all,

Right i wanted to keep my folding farm idea a secret and just upload a load of pics onto boards one evening but its not worked out like that :( anyway Ive spent the last 2 months hunting gear for my build, as I'm not going to be buying 4+ 200 series cards for each mobo this is a project i wish to add to as and when funds allow, i was looking at the msi plat boards witch since seem to be disco'ed so been hunting for something else but trying to find a board that has at least 4 double pci e slots for the right money is proving to be a right mission! board price is the price then you find out the smallest cpu you can run on that board and almost die at the price, I'm not fussed whether its intel or amd, it will be folding and folding only, so with these stack of 8000 cards Ive got here I'm after a board, ram and cpu package/setup to run them, any ideas welcome- I'm not a bottom less pit of money just want to do my bit! there going in a fabricated stacking system so size is no problem, all ideas welcome

Ta

Keep an eye on eBay for the MSI P6N Diamond, MSI K9A2 Platinum or Foxconn Destroyer.

The msi p6n is curently looking the best bet, with dual core 775's going for peanuts on fleabay and the top 3 air coolers for them at around 40 quid, looking like the best bet, no foxcons on ebay uk or us, and the plats are dear so if i can not find the plats cheaper then its the p6n ftw :)

These boards are worth £50-60 maximum. It's worth waiting for them to come up on ebay.

Unless you want to pay 4 times as much for something with which the graphics cards will perform identically, there are no alternatives.
